What makes a website search engine friendly?

Primarily a website may be considered search engine friendly if a search engine, mainly Google, can find the website by crawling the internet and following links and then crawling all of the pages of the website, discovering all of the content that we want to be listed on Google.

In order to facilitate this our website content needs to be logical and exist in a hierarchical structure, the website needs to contain internal links which reflect the importance of various pages and then the individual pages themselves must be crawlable so that all of the content that we want visible on Google, can be found and indexed by Google, including all of the digital assets within the page such as video graphics, images and text.

That is the fundamental of making a website “search engine friendly” and from there, the search engine optimisation (SEO) aspects need to be considered as well.
