Googlebot is the web crawling robot used by Google to index the web. It is responsible for discovering new and updated pages on the web and adding them to the Google index, so that they can be included in search results. Googlebot works by following links from one page to another, downloading the contents of each page, and analyzing it to understand the content and context of the page. The information collected by Googlebot is then used to update the Google index, which is used to serve relevant search results to users. Googlebot can also be used to test the accessibility of websites, monitor website performance, and identify technical issues that may impact a site’s search visibility.
