Definition: Reciprocal link

A reciprocal link, also known as a “link exchange” or “link swap,” is a mutual agreement between two website owners to add a link from their respective sites to each other’s sites. The purpose of a reciprocal link is usually to increase visibility and traffic to both websites by creating additional inbound links. However, reciprocal linking is no longer considered a valuable SEO technique, as search engines such as Google prioritize natural, high-quality links over artificially created link exchanges.
