Link velocity refers to the rate at which new links are acquired by a website over time. It is a measure of the growth and change in a website’s link profile, and is used as an indicator of the site’s popularity and authority. A high link velocity, or a rapid increase in the number of new links pointing to a site, can signal that the site is becoming more popular and authoritative. Conversely, a low link velocity or a decrease in the number of new links may indicate that the site’s popularity or authority is declining. Link velocity is considered to be an important factor in search engine ranking algorithms, as search engines view a sudden increase in links as a sign of credibility and popularity.
